At the time of the move, there were a few reasons to change locations. It is only 5 blocks away from church, we are able to walk to Lake Harriet, the apartment has 2 bedrooms, and rent was $115 less. We ended up moving just before Thanksgiving, which is not the best season given MN winter weather conditions. For the longest time, I (Lara) knew in my heart that this was the right decision, but had little idea what made it so. Now I know. On Wednesday I received word that the staff at school would have to take a 15% pay reduction. Yuck! What little money we thought we would save by moving is now essential to staying within our budget. God had a plan to take care of us from the beginning. His timing was perfect as it always is. And even though I didn't know the reason we were to move, I am glad we felt the gentle nudge and went with it!
I will admit that during this course of time I was not listening for God's voice. It has been a struggle to seek His will as I did in college, but I thank the Lord that he still speaks and prods and gets us to the right place in spite of me. As we walk through the certainly troubling times ahead I will strive to trust the lord with all my heart and lean not on my own understanding. He will direct my paths - even when I am too blind and deaf to his calling.
May the peace of the Lord, which surpasses all understanding, be with you tonight and always.
